Booster News

Dear Soleado Parents/Guardians,

As we gear up for the holiday season, many of us will be looking for gifts for
family, friends, teachers, co-workers, and others. If you are one of the
millions of people who will be shopping in stores or online this weekend,
remember that some of your purchases may earn money for Soleado. For online
shoppers, remember to register at www.onecause.com and then do your online
shopping or make travel arrangements. Many companies like Amazon, Dell, Apple,
Lego, Disney Store, Macy's, J.C. Penney, Nordstrom, Gap, J. Crew, Marriott,
Expedia, and more will contribute a percentage of your purchase to Soleado IF
you go to the Onecause site first, and then link over to one of hundreds of
shopping sites. If you've already started an order, no worries; open a new
browser window, go to Onecause.com, click on the site where you were shopping,
and your order will still be there waiting for you (only now, you'll earn money
for Soleado!).

And for those folks who might be hitting the deals at Target this season,
remember that Target Red Card holders not only get an extra 5% discount off
their purchases (including gift cards!), but earn money for Soleado as well.

Thank you for supporting our Soleado Suns every day!

Community Read In

We are in the process of organizing our annual Community Read In event and would love to hear your suggestions on interesting guests to come in and read to our kids.

Please comment on this post below or contact me directly at Jennifer@SouthBayTeam.com if you have someone in mind.

High Five For 5%

Last night's Fresh & Easy event was a lot of fun!! The store was very busy during our 4pm-8pm time period and we enjoyed greeting and talking to all of the customers. Many of us parent volunteers even scored a free turkey during the store's promotion and raised money for our school. :)

Thank you to everyone that helped collect receipts and bag groceries. We will update you with our total amount collected once the store provides us with that information.

Upcoming PTA Meeting

We hope you will join us at our upcoming
PTA/Booster General meeting! Tuesday, 11/13 - 9am in the MPR.

We  hope that you can spare an hour in your week to stop in and hear about what is going on at Soleado.  There will be a special technology update  from First Grade Teacher, Ms. Kathy Burson, as well as an update from Mr. Allen, our PTA President, our Booster Club, and much more.  Raffles! Refreshments!  These once a month meetings are a great way to learn about what is going on at Soleado, and to give your input in  planning for future months.
Per PTA Council rules, we need a minimum number of people present at these meetings to conduct business.  If this number is not met, we are unable to approve monthly minutes, new motions, etc.  Last month
we did not have enough people at the meeting to do this. As a result, we are sending out this email in the hopes that we can increase attendance.

As Mr. Allen always says, "Soleado is a Village."  We are asking members of this village to please attend these meetings and support your PTA/Booster Club in our continued efforts to plan programs, field trips, and events for the students at Soleado.

Thank you

Soleado will get 5% of the store’s sales from 4pm-8pm so come and do some shopping!

Mr. Allen will be at the store from 5pm-7pm to greet our families and bag your groceries! Don’t miss out! · We still need adult volunteers for the evening.

So if you are able to come and help out even for a short time greeting customers, bagging groceries, or helping the children volunteers ask customers for receipt donations, please sign up at: CLICK HERE TO SIGN UP

Any questions about volunteering, please contact Jennifer Farrell at: jennifersouthbayteam@gmail.com

Keep collecting receipts! · We are also still collecting receipts through December 31, 2012. For every $20 you spend at a Fresh & Easy store, Soleado gets $1 donated to the school. Our collection box is located in the front office. We can collect receipts from any Fresh & Easy store so have friends and family donate their receipts too!
