At Soleado, we strive to provide our students with a well-rounded experience that will benefit them for a lifetime. During the 2013-2014 school year, parents raised and spent more than $80,000 to support our school community, with expenses broken down like this:
More
specifically, this included our support of technology-based learning in
all classrooms and our Multi-Purpose Room ($12,500), assisting teachers
with the purchase of additional classroom supplies ($7,000), installing
a marquee display sign to provide parents with reminders of upcoming
events ($4,600), providing all grades the chance to attend field trips
($4,200), protecting students from the sun by purchasing the shade tarp
for our lunch tables ($3,000), inspiring students to learn about art by
funding our Art At Your Fingertips program ($3,000), keeping our
students safe and prepared for emergencies ($3,000), bringing new PE
equipment to school to support our PE program ($2,200), and so many more
things, such as funding our science fair, variety show, assemblies,
Reflections art contest, Community Read-In Day, Red Ribbon Week, Yellow
Ribbon Week, Green Ribbon Week, school hospitality and volunteer
appreciation efforts.
Together, fundraising efforts create the very special environment that we want for our students.
