Calling All Scientists and Engineers! The Science Fair is recruiting approx. 10 volunteer judges to evaluate the entries. We are looking for parents with science, engineering background or those with a high interest in science. Judging will take place on 4/16 (Wed) from 3 to 4 pm in the MPR. Mrs. Ellis (5th Grade) will provide the training to all judges. Interested families please contact Linh Tu (Science Fair parent coordinator) at linh.tu2@gmail.com. Writing Workshop for Families Learning from Every Writer in the Room Presented by Lorrie Tom Family of Writers is a unique opportunity for students and parents to write together. During three evening meetings, Lorrie Tom guides families through writing activities that help participants discover confidence, voice, and craft while also addressing Common Core writing standards. Students who write well are more likely to become lifelong writers. Parents will also learn positive approaches for giving writing response to their children. Most importantly, parent and child share the rich legacy of family stories, experiencing writing as a creative, joyous, and insightful journey. | Soleado Social Hour Dates As reported, we have started to use the Parent Resource Room as a place for parents to meet occasionally to gather and socialize to get to know one another - especially the parents of younger grades and new families to our school. We will have a standing Soleado Social Hour at school on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of the month from 8:30 - 9:30am in the Parent Resource Room April 11th and 25th. PTA Position Still Available!
This position requires attendance at two meetings a month. Recording Secretary- Take minutes at all Executive Board and General Meetings and distribute them for comments in a timely manner.
- Bind all minutes into the official record of the PTA.
- Have minutes available at meetings for reference.
